Paul is currently the art director at Milwaukee Magazine, formerly the creative director of the Chicago Reader. He studied visual art at the University of Nebraska, and cut his teeth as a freelance illustrator, designer, and photographer before jumping into publication design. Paul presided over the Reader’s re-branding in 2011, two major redesigns, and his multi-media art direction and cover designs have won awards and accolades from organizations such as the Association of Alternative Newsmedia and the Society of Publication Designers. He has given lectures for AIGA Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago, Columbia College, and Harrington College of Design on topics ranging from printing processes to communication design, and has had his work displayed at the Chicago Cultural Center among other spaces and galleries throughout the Midwest.
I love working on fun and difficult projects with optimistic people. If you want to make something great together and change the world give me a shout.
