Cover & Feature Layout Design for Milwaukee Magazine

Milwaukee Magazine is an award-winning city-regional magazine covering the greater Milwaukee metro area and Southeast Wisconsin. I worked there from 2017 to 2022 and oversaw the covers, features, photo shoots, and digital and print design, along with print and web redesigns in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

After years of working at a scrappy weekly newspaper, working on a monthly magazine was a luxurious, eye-opening experience. There was time and budget for scouting photo-shoot locations, sourcing props, hiring stylists and makeup artists, and weeks! to mull over concepts before needing to make final decisions.

All art for the covers and feature spreads below was commissioned for the magazine with exception of the City Guide/lighthouse cover. Due to COVID restrictions and inclement weather we used a photo originally sourced for the feature layout.
